The method involves finding the synchronous impedance ZsтАЛ=Ra2тАЛ+Xs2тАЛтАЛ. By obtaining the open-circuit voltage for a given field current and the short-circuit current for the same field current, we calculate ZsтАЛ as the ratio of open-circuit voltage per phase to the short-circuit current.
