The Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna Award is India's highest sporting honor, presented annually to athletes who have demonstrated spectacular and most outstanding performance in the field of sports over a period of four years. The 2023 selection committee recognized the phenomenal rise of the badminton duo, who achieved unprecedented global success including historic wins at the Asian Games and BWF Super 1000 tournaments.
