The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) announced the winners of the Green Highways Excellence Awards 2026 on September 3, 2026. The awards recognize outstanding achievements in sustainable plantation and landscaping along National Highways. Instituted in 2025 under the Green Highways Policy, 2015, the awards promote environmental sustainability, soil conservation, and aesthetic enhancement across the highway network.
The Green Highways Policy was launched in 2015 by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) with the aim of promoting greening, plantation, and environmental conservation along all National Highways in India.
Instituted by NHAI in 2025 under the Green Highways Policy, 2015
1st Prize: Six-laning of Chilakaluripet Bypass on NH-16 (Andhra Pradesh)
2nd Prize: Padra–Vadodara section of Vadodara–Kim Expressway (Gujarat)
3rd Prize: Gagariya–Bakhasar section (NH-925) and Satta–Gandhav section (NH-925A)
